New Porro Shenzen Monobrand

30.06.23

Yuehai Street, Nanshan District, Shenzhen 105
Porro Showroom, No.1 Shenzhen Bay South
Grand Opening: 30 June 2023

The new Porro Shenzen space reproposes the distinctive concept of the brand's stores designed by art director Piero Lissoni: neutral, delicate colors for the interior finishes such as the resin floors, the louver wood ceiling, and the ecological paint made from the waste of rice processing for the walls, from which emerge the pure volumes and broad spectrum of finishes of the systems and furnishings on display. Porro's logo, designed in 1966 by Italian design master Bruno Munari, is the graphic element of the entrance door in blue crystal with an inclined wooden handle and the shop windows.

In the waiting room at the entrance, the visitor is welcomed by the Kite armchair by GamFratesi in brick red fabric, with its plastic fan shape. Wide and compact volume, Kite reveals to a careful eye its refined details: calibrated thicknesses, accurate proportions and the elegant curvature of the tubular structure with brown ombra finishing that surrounds the internal padding, a sort of coat with a raised collar of haute couture spirit.
Sartorial dresses are stored in the Boutique Mast system, design Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro, with circular metal uprights in burnished brass where to fit cantilevered glider-wing shelves and verde inglese lacquered open modules, preciously refined with a 45° corner jointing. A new design for the walk-in closet, creating aerial strongly visual and customised tailored-made solutions, reflecting in the Reflection mirror by Piero Lissoni with burnished brass frame.

The dining room features the armonic shapes of Materic table by Piero Lissoni with Calacatta Oro round top and a conical base with a burnished brass finishing. Around it, the Frank chairs by Piero Lissoni with shell-shaped back and seat upholstered in panna colour fabric and the solid robust burnished brass legs.
On the wall, an eye-catching large Modern hanging composition designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro is raised from the floor next to a matt travertine Roc board, animated by the nice graphic effect of avorio lacquered doors that contrast with Nazionale walnut, the wood type chosen for the interiors of the glass cabinets, featuring a metal frame in the same colour, that stand out as contemplative voids in the composition. In the middle, perfectly concealed, the TV compartment appears only in moments of leisure, thanks to the very large avorio glossy lacquered vertical sliding door.
The side-panel System bookshelf and equipped wall system by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro gives rhythm to the space with its irregular layout, inviting to linger on the tactile and visual references of Porro’s wood collection: heat-treated elm is chosen; in the middle is a glass cabinet with Iron frames to store the most valuable objects, highlighted by the new spotlights that can be freely adjusted in their position.

In the “dressing room for him”, Storage system of wardrobes and dressing rooms, designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre, chooses black sugi, the dark and enveloping finish, extremely sophisticated, at the same time ancient and modern. Combined with a black painted metal structure, it offers a matte black-ink surface with marked veins, inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of Sou Sugi Ban, which protected the cedar wood by burning it with coal.
The Hinged Storage corner closet in black sugi alternates the shoe rack inclined shelves, with open modules and others closed by black saddle leather doors, becoming unique thanks to sophisticated stitches and Boite Aux recessed handles, telling of Porro's meticulous attention to every smallest detail.
At the center of the room, the Hub central unit by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti in black stained ash wood combines the wooden drawers on one side and a corda leather bench solution with a large drawer on the other, to sit and quietly contemplate the wardrobe, the heart of the house and a must of Porro’s offering.

To enhance a transition space by creating a home-working station with integrated lighting, the Load-it bookcase designed by Wolfgang Tolk with burnished brass shelves and black-stained canneté wall panels is combined with the Modern writing top in santos rosewood. An elegant solution which dresses the surface giving character to the room enlightening the ambiance, thanks to spotlights with magnetic connection that can be placed anywhere along the electrified profile under the shelves, perfectly matching the Romby chair by GamFratesi, whose truncated cone base in solid black stained ash wood, with an exquisite flared shape, is connected to a swivel upholstered seat, soft and compact, covered in a black&white fabric.
Suitable for both domestic and working spaces, the Offshore chest of drawers by Piero Lissoni in panna open-pore stained ash wood, thanks to the continuity of the wood grain on all sides, is a continuous volume interrupted only by the detail of the negative handle: a hole entirely plated in metal with Iron finish.

A rigorous relaxation characterizes the Lullaby armchair designed by Nicola Gallizia, an object of desire with an unusual shape that, behind its apparent simplicity, reveals sophisticated details, such as the black-stained curved solid ash wood frame and the tight-fitting cloth upholstery in gray tones. It is accompanied by the iconic Balancing Boxes by Front, composed of a series of irregularly overlapping santos rosewood wooden boxes, as though balancing in space.
The ambiance is illuminated in a scenographic way by the Gap hanging bookcases designed by Carlo Tamborini in the precious rosso cina and grigio piombo metal finishes: a strong aesthetic sign that acts as a book-end as well as a light source, thanks to the built-in LED lighting that runs along its perimeter.

A dining room with a strong character features the Metallico table by Piero Lissoni, characterized by the lightness of the top and legs, made from 12mm-thick solid aluminum, and by the particular rosso antico finishing, obtained by a catalysed high thickness painting and by following stages of polishing and waxing by hand. Next to it, are the Neve chairs by Piero Lissoni in black stained ash with exact yet soft lines, which reinterpret the classic wooden chair in a contemporary vein.
The Storage Battente wardrobe with avorio lacquered doors, a classic par excellence, shows its possible use in the day area. Filling two geometric voids, the new open metal box Bento and the glass cabinet with its strongly textured interior in pale moon provide a super elegant eccentric touch, enhanced by the lighted transparent shelves.
Suitable for storing dishes and serving as a sophisticated bar cabinet, the Gallery Low Cupboard by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti.
Glide Miru sliding doors in crystal with an iridescent metallic fabric with a subtle champagne-colored weave, perfectly matching the cuvée frame, lead to the to the bedroom: perfectly integrated in Porro’s living and bedroom systems and in the home architecture, Glide sliding partitions designed by Piero Lissoni + Iaco Design Studio become the new essential ingredient and connecting link of Porro’s project, where traditional settings are expanded and reshaped in a new way.

The Storagedressing room for her” designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre, features fully transparent, open or closed spaces with glass doors, alongside the transparent corner solution.
The structure and the metal parts, like the new thinner 25x25mm profile, that contributes to making the composition look even lighter and allows to perfectly match the different types of systems, come in the cuvée finish, a sophisticated and precious colour. The back panels and fittings are in white cherry, the new Scandinavian-inspired light finishing that mimics the cherry wood grain, softening the rosy nuance with more neutral and universal tones.
A textile bed with an intimate and compact shape, the Byron bed by Piero Lissoni consists of 3 elements: the padded bed frame slightly raised from the floor, the soft headboard cushions where you can linger reading before falling asleep, and the screen at the bottom of the bed with a black stained solid ash frame that encloses a straw weave featuring a graphic black and white houndstooth pattern, in a balance between contemporaneity and memory.
On the side for a moment of relax is Traveller, the elegant and original daybed by GamFratesi characterized by the black painted metal trestle structure and the "saddle effect" leather sides.

Large Glide Samurai wings by Piero Lissoni + Iaco Design Studio, combining the transparency of crystal to the charm of Porro’s surfaces, give access to Storage Boiserie, offering a protection that lets the eyes see through.
Halfway between the walk-in closet and the open wardrobe, characterized by distinctive wall panels to which the various modules can be fixed, the Boiserie Storage is exposed with arancio zucca fabric covered backs from which emerge as architectural volumes the glass shelves and the elements in black sugi.
