THE GAME OF THE WOLF AND THE SHEEP
A millennial postime where fun and strategy intertwine in a timeless challenge. Porro renews its small series of special limited-edition objects to be gifted, rediscovering "The Wolf and the Sheep": a game from popular
tradition, transformed into a contemporary design object.
The wolf, represented by a piece of a different colour, is the predator attempting to capture the twelve sheep, symbolized by white pieces. In turn, the sheep try to trap the wolf in its den, in a fascinating game of capture and alignment along a graphic grid.
The roots of this game lie in popular imagination. lts traces con stili be found in medieval squares and courtyards, where boards were carved into stane -         from the Lower Valtellina valley to the Apuan Alps and even Spain -and then played with makeshift pieces -pebbles, beans, or buttons – dark for the wolf and light far the sheep.
Today, Porro reinterprets this ancient ritual, emphasizing the simple preciousness of a moment of escape and the pleasure of a face-to-face challenge, celebrating the value of shared time and the beauty of well-crafted objects to be preserved with care and rediscovered with the family during the holidays.
