Porro and the GamFratesi duo, Danish designer Stine Gam and Italian designer Enrico Fratesi, are working together for the first time in the bedroom.

“This year we designed a bed, which is an extremely important piece because it’s the center of the bedroom area. And the challenge was how we wanted to combine the Porro DNA into this design. I think the piece is extremely light, but in the same time it has a lot of character because the dimension of the wood is still very present. Then we have the headboard element, which is very soft and very comfortable. So I think we’ve a nice balance between the quite heavy wood frame and then the very soft cushions. 

And what we think was very important was to create a piece which is very essential using the wood. We had a lot to focus in the joint, in the corners, and that’s where the beautiful detail is.

The name is Iro and is inspired by color. It’s because Porro is actually working a lot with the techniques of coloring the bed. Now we are presenting here with natural wood, but it’s also possible to add touch of color to its minimalist frame”. Enrico Fratesi and Stine Gam, GamFratesi.
