SD Concepts Grand Opening - June 2015

15.07.15

Inaugurated last June, the new SD Concept showroom brings high-quality furniture from top brands such as Porro, Minotti, Rifra, Gessi and Glas Italia in Belgium, thanks to a team of professionals following the different aspects of an interior project guided by the managers Steven Callebaut and Didier François.

The double-height space is conceived as a big home, where the shiny lacquers of Porro’s palette mix up with the chromatic vitality of 16 essences of the new collection of Porro woods drive the  emitting intense notes of elegance, refinement and relax.

At the entrance visitors are welcomed by the Sidewall vertical bookcases of Piero Lissoni, consisting of overlapping modules of variable height, presented in mustard yellow, fiamma orange and spring green glossy finishings.

In the living room on the left, the fireplace is set up with the Load-It bookcase by Wolfgang Tolk , presenting heat-treated oak wall panels and steel shelves, a graphic sign of great elegance on the wall. In the living area on the right, Modern system of containers and tops is articulated in a TV composition with Flag panel and suspended shelf in eucalyptus: a tv element with drop-leaf door and a unit equipped with drawers, both in matt sabbia lacquer.

The day area is dominated by a scenographic System bookcase by Piero Lissoni, that runs full-length from the floor to the ceiling, placing all bets on the strong tactile impact of its finishing: teak, a warm wooden essence that varies from pale yellow to bronze with hints of red. In order to protect some of its sections, glass hinged doors with Iron frames are offered, extreme transparency enclosed by an elegant metal profile.

In the first dining room, the Synapsis table by Jean Marie Massaud with a thin top in eucalyptus and woven base made with a chrome plated rode steel structure is matched with the H.Chair armchairs by Christophe Pillet in black leather. Behind it, the Ex-libris bookcase designed by Piero Lissoni, precious at the touch and sight as well, ranges and displays rich collections.

In the second dining room, 2 Modern cupboards play upon the geometric construction of open elements with cina red and reale blue lacquered backs, and closed volumes in the new wooden essences, ranging from the warm and honey-blonde notes of the heat treated elm, to the streaked and reddish brown nuances of the heat treated hemlock, up to the dark burnt sienna hues of the heat treated oak.

An elegant home-office area where reading or working in created with the Load-It steel bookcase combined with Modern hanging elements and suspended shelf in heat-treated elm and the upholstered Conch chair, while in the hallway a Storage wardrobe in HDS offers an effective containment.

The upper floor is the realm of Storage, Porro’s system of wardrobes, open wardrobes and walk-in closets designed by Piero Lissoni. On the background of the bathroom area, the hinged door Storage wardrobe is presented with “cenere” hemlock interiors and the new white matt lacquered Riff doors: a groove running the full height of the panel offers a discreet, continuous profile that makes the Storage wardrobe very easy to open, creating an architectural touch and a clean, essential motif that leaves the surface linear while adding movement. A separate room for your clothes is provided by the Storage dressing room, presented in the expressive finishing of mongoi in an angular composition alternating open modules to modules closed by Iron doors in transparent glass with iron-look varnished metal profiles. At the centre the new Acquario drawer unit, made in transparent glass with burnished brass profiles, divided in 3 shelves and customizable with wooden trays which leave the contents visible, in order to store them in perfect order and then extract them with ease; on the wall the Reflection mirrors with a bronze satined, painted metal frame.

In the office area Fractal, the system of tables in several dimensions and finishes by Piero Lissoni, is presented with L-shaped reduced section legs in white painted aluminium, HDS top and customizations for the working use, such as hanging drawer units, computer holder, vertical courtesy panel, column for cable passage inside the section of the leg and top access. To host folders, Tiller by Piero Lissoni in eucalyptus is showed in the horizontal version with 4 doors to be opened, one over the other at 180°, a detail pleasantly changing its face design.

Full-length made-to-measure Shift sliding doors in heat treated eucalyptus, architectural partitions that slide along a walkable track on the floor that does not require any structural work, transform the second dressing room into a separate space, an inviting “chamber of desire”. Inside, the Boiserie Storage is presented in the new “lino” melamine finishing, a solution halfway between the walk-in closet and the open wardrobe, characterized by distinctive wall panels to which the various modules can be fixed extending the possibilities of this system.

Finally, the bedroom is screened by a Storage Air composition, the free-standing declination of the walk-in closet,  enclosed by crystal sides and back panels.

With this important presence of the 3 company’s systems - Modern day system of containers and suspended tops, Storage system of wardrobes, open wardrobes and walk-in closets and System modular system of bookcases and equipped walls – and of the collections for the living and sleeping areas of the house with a complete overview on the latest novelties, SD Concepts confirms itself as one of the most important showcases in Belgium of the Italian brand Porro, which reaffirms its power in European markets with this opening as well as its ability to create many different stylish and captivating environments, thanks to the richness of its catalogue and the incredibly wide range of available finishings, by virtue of a sartorial approach, a bespoke service which makes it possible to fit products to all tastes.
