SURFACES
Natural woods, coloured metals, black and white decorations, contrasts of polished and opaque surfaces: the experimentation focuses on the materials, both at home and in Porro home office.
For 2009 Porro proposes an elegant and refined blend of atmospheres where high-tech accents, décor mannerisms and a return to the roughest, most irregular consistency of solid wood coexist harmoniously even in the smallest environments, to satisfy the tastes of a clientele that is inquisitive and loves to cross-fertilise.
The use in Porro systems of a very pale wood, with its rich grains, Hemlock, responds to an inner need for naturalness, for simplification, for a return to the origins: this wood takes on a spatial connotation in System NXT, the adjustable bookcase characterised by the typical open shelves that make it an indispensable furniture item for the home and the working environment: a light cage modulating the space with its own regular rhythm.
The small series of black and white furnishings created by the Swedish group Front, who work on the interaction between two-dimensional decoration and object, is the conceptual follow-up to the research into materials of Material House.
Light and poetic notation covers the surfaces of 3 furnishing elements: a vertical two-door cabinet that is ideal for the bedroom, a sideboard for the dining room, and a horizontal container with coplanar doors, designed for those who do not forget feelings in furnishing.
Soft technology and high aesthetic appeal are also to be found in the Porro home office environments.
Contrasts between shiny and opaque, minimum thickness and rounded edges, to soften the rigorous geometries giving visual continuity, these are the features that characterise the new sectional table by Piero Lissoni, proposed along with the new total black variation on the H.chair armchair by Christophe Pillet, with its leather seat and opaque black painted metal structure.
