Porro at Kortijk - Interieur 2010

24.10.10

Interieur, the biennal exhibition organised by the Belgian city of Kortrijk that is devoted to the latest trends in design for the home, is confirmed again for 2010 as one of the most interesting events in the sector and an indispensable date on the Porro autumn calendar.

In a stand designed by Piero Lissoni with the presence of Living Divani upholstered items, the Italian brand proposes an open space that, surrounded by bright partitions, white walls and a lacquered wood slatted floor, alternates between a bedroom, living environments and working spaces where invisible technologies are at the service of the maximum expressive possibilities, for a nomadic home that is continually adapting.

The protagonist of the day zone is the Modern system of units, worktops and shelves. Modern has been revisited in 2010 through the use of reduced thicknesses, a new graphic look, different types of base, new finishes, more immediate opening solutions and configurations made to measure for contemporary living and working spaces.

Along with Modern, the living zone is structured by System, the modifiable bookcase characterised by its typical open shelves making it an indispensable furnishing item for the home and the working environment.
Presented in a black stained hemlock two-faced composition with a transparent glass sliding door and matt black lacquered folding doors closing system, System acts as a perspective screen that visually structures the day environments it faces, yet without separating them.

The night zone, on the other hand, is the preferred terrain of action for Storage, the Porro system of wardrobes, open wardrobes and walk-in closets.
The coplanar and hinged door wardrobe is presented with new white back-painted glass doors, created for the first time without the presence of a perimeter frame, with the effect of a continuous resistant surface with built-in handle.
The walk-in closet is proposed in the new self-standing solution, in which the upright is a continuous closed profile that does not require to be fixed to the wall. This is a practical solution, which makes Storage easy to use in any environment.
The new “ash-grey” hemlock finish with suspended equipment and whole colour painted metal parts, delicate shades for greater visual uniformity, has been chosen for both.

In the last environment, midway between a dining room and a more informal and elegant working environment, there is a sequence of 3 Fractals tables, in the square version with white painted aluminium L-shaped legs and extra-clear glass or matt lacquered top; this is a real system in which you can choose your favourite combination of top and structure. It is surrounded by black stained or red stained ash Neve chairs, with rigorous yet soft lines, the latest creation by Piero Lissoni for Porro, re-interpreting the classic wooden chair in a contemporary vein. Taking up forms and sensations inherent in the collective memory, and available with and without arms, Neve is not an object designed to astound, but rather to be included harmoniously in any context as though it had always been an indispensable part of it.
