One of the most beloved brands in the world for its essential sign and the high quality of its design proposals, Porro will take part to IMM in Koln, the main German exhibition consecrated to modern furnishing.
In 2012 the company is strongly attentive to Germany, a country which is still at present the real engine of Europe, with important growth forecasts, returning once more to exhibit its products in Koln, selecting for the first time a place inside the Koeln Messe, as to develop an immediate dialogue with an historically important market for Italian design.
Porro took the decision to introduce its “house idea” to the German and Northern Europe public, rediscovering the pleasure to live according to the Italian style: a living room, a dining room, a bedroom and an office all around a central mark, recalling a big fireplace.
If the outside shell with horizontal and vertical openings is designed by Piero Lissoni clearly recalling architecture, the internal space, about 200 square meters leads to a domestic ambience: refined winter atmospheres where black, ivory, beige and grey stand out, cared for by Porro into details, up to the selection of lamps, modern objects and carpets, transferring the concept of discrete and bourgeois elegance, a metropolitan ambience where natural references are not missing, warming the entire room.
The brand mastery and expertise stand out: each exhibited object recalls handicraft quality and innovation as well, invisible technologies and mechanisms hidden to the view, leading to a “tactile house” to be touched with the hands, noiseless, relaxing and pleasant where to live, a nice nest leaving enough space to relationships and exchanges between inhabitants.
In the first ambiance, the office, the twisted lines of the Synapsis table stand out with an oval white lacquered top and a white lacquered steel base, matched with the embracing and comfortable shapes of the small chair Soft Chair covered in orange, bordeaux and violet-blue fabrics. Strong colours stand out from the bookcase unit, based on a pivoting base unit, Sidewall in rosso fire, arancio fiamma and amaranto while the elegance of black and white characterise the Modern cupboard on a “lama” foot, in a perfect matching of open units in black stained hemlock and matt white lacquered units.
On the wall System, the unit system featuring the typical open shelves making it a required furnishing unit within the house and the office: it exhibits a black stained hemlock structure and a sliding white glass door. The peculiarity is the new 33 cm unit, which matched with the 66 cm unit creates a pleasant squared wall.
The office is separated from the bedroom by the self-standing walk-in closet Storage Air whose upright is a continuous closed profile not to be fitted to the wall. It exhibits glass side and back panels and it is internally fitted with a glass drawer set and wood trays for shirts.
On the opposite wall, the pull-out sliding doors Storage with matt lacquered door with the new boite-aux handle, built-in the door thickness while the interiors exhibit neutral colours: the structure in “cenere” hemlock finish and the metal parts painted in the same colour.
The bed Shin recalls past memories, with its structure in thin wood, where on the front and on the back metal tubular structures are fitted to make the head and foot-board. Accurate finishes as the black stained ash for the structure, perfect proportions and soft wide leather-coloured cushions, to make dreams come true. The bedroom is finally fitted with Truck, bedside tables, consisting of two parallelepipeds on a different height thus leading to the amusing pattern of two scaled drawers, the small armchair Ghiaccio with a black stained ash structure and the seat in rope fabric, the chest of drawers Boxes with 6 drawers in tortora stained glass and the mirror Reflection.
The living room is separated from the bedroom by the Pivot doors in mat white lacquer, to be entirely customised according to the specific size requirements.
In the ambience destined to the dining room, chairs and armchairs Neve in black stained ash around the Metallico, table in the rectangular version with a black finish, with a hyper-thin top matched with graphical legs fitted to the top and the thickness.
Laterally, recovering the ancient and precious inlay tradition, the Inlay sideboard, covered with 3D patterns recalling a parallelepiped composition crossing in space, matching small wood parts, in 4 different colours in oak to lead to marvellous and complex optical inlays.
Two Ex-Libris bookcase units in the new transparent proposal, with glass shelves and side and back panels open the living room, where around the dark-brown Living Divani settees, on the one side there is the board Groove in natural hemlock and on the other, the small armchairs Ghiaccio in black stained ash, while in the centre of the room, the square bench units Modern in the three Porro woods, natural hemlock, mongoi and black stained hemlock, used as small tables.
On the back, next to the fireplace, the small tables Showcase Table in the square model in nero and giallo mustard: featuring thin lines. They exhibit a double glass where to store under-glass any daily life object, a book, a pair of spectacles, exhibited as in a glass case, as unique masterpieces.
On the wall, finally, Modern in a new composition with a wall back panel where to fit any unit. An alluring sabbia matt coloured continuous surface up to the floor, to create a single colour picture to be interpreted as a paper, where to enjoy testing any preferred volume arrangements, closed with a sand coloured bright sliding door.
Thanks to such an impressive booth and an important overview on the entire company collection and of its systems to furnish the living room and the bedroom, the house and the office as well, Modern, System and Storage, Porro plays its best cards, addressing a more and more demanding and interested public looking for the Italian quality design.
