Launch event of Porro’s reserved area
Porro lands in one of the most lively and hectic cities of Asia, Jakarta, the cosmopolitan capital city of Indonesia.
After starting important collaborations in Singapore and Bangkok in late 2013 and opening a one-brand showroom in Hong Kong last February, Porro consolidates its presence in the East with an entire floor at the new showroom Prodotti, a network specialized in selling luxury furniture, located in Java. A powerful visibility and a new intriguing challenge for the Italian brand, which is increasingly more extended overseas, and specifically looking at this part of the world that is showing itself to be a wealth of opportunities for brands that best express excellence in their fields.
The area dedicated to the brand exposes itself as a big home composed by two bedrooms, one dressing room, two dining rooms and two living rooms, where the lacquers in primary colours mix up with the chromatic vitality of 16 essences of the new collection of Porro woods, emitting intense notes of elegance, refinement and relax.
In the guest bedroom, the Shin bed in black stained ash wood with cioccolato leather cushions is paired with the avorio lacquered Offshore bedside table and with the Inlay chest of drawers, whose inlaid design features 4 different shades of oak. On the right side the wardrobe Storage with rich pull-out sliding doors in sabbia coloured glass and interiors in “cenere” hemlock is equipped with drawers for shirts and jumpers.
In the master bedroom the new Taiko bed is the star, a unique blend of rigorous geometry and inviting softness. Behind the bed, full-length made-to-measure Shift sliding doors in heat treated tanne, architectural partitions that slide along a walkable track on the floor that does not require any structural work, transform the dressing room into a secret space, an inviting “chamber of desire”.
The whole environment is defined by the open wardrobe Storage, which exposes clothes in perfect order. It’s presented in the expressive finishing of mongoi in an angular composition that alternates 2 shoe modules with the stunning illuminated shoe shelves to modules closed by Iron doors in transparent glass with iron-look varnished metal profiles.
In the first dining room, the new Galileo table in heat treated ash, featuring organic contours thanks to its solid wood table top supported by four thick tapered legs, is surrounded by the Garda chairs in black stained ash with a leather upholstered seat. System, the modular system with the typical open shelving making it a unique furnishing proposal for the house and the office here, is displayed in heat treated eucalyptus, one of the 16 essences of the new collection of Porro woods, personalizing the space in the pursuit of naturalness. The smoke glass sliding door and the arancio fiamma lacquered back-panels enliven System front view, while the new removable drawers- trays customize some units, for an accurate and diversified order.
In the second dining room, an imposing table Synapsis with a black stained hemlock surface and a chromium-plated woven base is presented along with chairs Neve in black stained ash and with a black leather seat, and Como in black stained oak and cioccolato leather. The research of materials and the technological innovation of details, which are typical of Porro products, are highlighted by the bookcase Ex-Libris in the “total” transparent version with shelves, sides and back panels in glass, a real showcase enclosed by glass doors with “Iron” frame and by a couple of Mikado, the unit sideboard made in olive ash, ethereal and strongly exotic as well, consisting of a double layer of wood slates and closed by two hinged doors.
The first living room opens up with a wall composition Load-It + Modern where sabbia and avorio lacquered elements are combined with the warm tonalities of the panel Flag in heat treated tanne, a rhythmic sequence of volumes highlighted by thin steel shelves. At the centre of the room a piece that plays on unexpected movements and elaborate finishes: 3Table is a hinged table with metal glossy black painted legs consisting of a oval black back-painted glass top, a round and a square top in lauro preto wood.
In conclusion, a small relaxing area is created by the Jade armchair in black leather which looks suspended on the cross base in Canaletto walnut, whereas the walk-in closet Storage in "carbone" oak stands by the wall.
