Porro in New York: “LIVING IN ART” in Charles Street, 165

During ICFF, the most important American Furniture Fair, Porro will be present in New York at “Living in Art” a spectacular home setting realized with Troy, one of the American partner that represents the reference point and shop for the contemporary furniture in the United States.

The exhibition will take place in a strong location: the prestigious estate in 165, Charles Street, totally designed by Richard Meier.
The estate is made by 3 towers, 16 floors high, where there are bright homes, offices and showrooms. All of them have been studied by the architect both in external and internal details and they look surrounded in the new park on the river Hudson.
The estate in 165, Charles Street has been built between 2000 and 2005 and, with its 3 slender and transparent buildings, it is a part of Manhattan multi-faceted skyline.
Due to its favoured position, each flat enjoys a scenic view: from one side on west village that surrounds the building with the characteristic houses in bricks and pebbles, from the other side on the river till the opposite bank of New Jersey.

Troy wanted to dedicate one of these spaces totally to Porro and they created inside a perfect home.
Porro show their products, following the example of a great domestic space, in the glass and white painted building.
After Milan and Cologne, Porro show in New York a new interpretation of “La Casa di Porro”. They will demonstrate their capacity of realizing complete rooms that are different and will follow the architecture of the spaces themselves.
Porro proposals, thanks to their neutral and pure lines, are able to perfectly meet the different typologies of spaces: from the basic and rigorous ones to the eclectic and decorative. Therefore they will have a perfect arrangement both among the thick walls of an historical building and among the light glass windows of a residential skyline.
Some of the most representative products of Porro collection and some 2006 novelties will furnish the space with a full dialogue between architecture and design.
In two bedrooms you will see Lipla, the new leather bed designed by Jean Marie Massaud and Tokyo bed designed by Piero Lissoni.
A wooden bed with its geometrical composition and a leather one with a strong shape show Porro capability of using different materials and represent a selection of the great bed collection, able to satisfy the different needs and the different tastes by means of basic proposals or equipped with drawers.
Beside bedrooms you will see living rooms, realized together with Living Divani, where Truffle and Nouvelle Vague seats stand out for a total relax.
The new HT Work alternates open spaces to closed ones. It is a containing aluminium, light and adaptable element that can be ideal both for domestic and working use due to the new dimension studied for files and folders.
Inevitable is Modern system that constitutes Porro philosophy. It is a composition that joins volumes and colours, aesthetic and functionality.
Spindle stools will be presented for ICFF, they will increase Porro seats. They will suit, when placed beside Web working plane, domestic place in the kitchen and a small corner bar, pubs, restaurants, reception and public areas. The structure is harmonic chromium plated steel, it is 74 cm high, the back is just sketched and the seat is available in all the colours of Porro collection. They will be presented in the elegant black lacquer and they will be in contrast with the matt chalk white colour of all living furniture.
