The new Ghiaccio low armchair by Piero Lissoni has been selected by the board members of grandesignEtico, including representatives of the worlds of design, creativity industry and art, to participate to the International Award 2012 and its exhitibion preview, scheduled for next July in Milan.
Designed from the Neve experience, the seat with rigorous but soft lines exhibited last year, Ghiaccio is a new lower and more comfortable armchair, softened by fabric, leather or eco-leather cushions.
If the supporting frame features a series of straight lines in different thicknesses, slightly bending, making it pleasantly aerodynamic, its round cylinder feet, the light bending of the back and of the suspended upholstery seat it slender, intimate and welcoming. The use of white-stained ash makes the seat far more lighter, looking vintage, in the 50s’ fashion, further stressed by the wool covering.
