MODERN RHAPSODY by Piero Lissoni
Rigor, softness, functionality, artistic imprinting: the apartment imagined by Piero Lissoni exalts the always diverse face of Porro’s systems and collections, which are customizable according to one’s wishes.
In the spaces of the Porro Duriniquindici showroom on 2 levels we find a sequence of wide open environments– from the entryway to the living area, passing through the dining room, bedroom, dressing room and home office – where the 2018 novelties parade one after the other, extending the codes of the Porro home, which can be conjugated into an infinite spectrum of nuances, playing with the combinations.
In harmony with a new aesthetic that loves to be daring and experiment with colors, in the central living environment the Ex-Libris bookshelf and glass cabinet by Piero Lissoni renews itself, donning Block doors in transparent glass with lock, baseboard and top in the new Black Sugi melamine finish, and new tray shelves in eucalyptus with royal blue lacquered inside. Around the Palladio coffee tables by GamFratesi which, with their marble tops combine in an interplay of shapes and colors, one can sit comfortably on the Kite armchairs by GamFratesi with their tubular black painted steel structure and beige linen fabric coverings, with an evergreen look and a timeless charm conceived to live just as well in a vintage home as in the lobby of a luxury hotel. The System bookcase in Canaletto walnut, designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research centre, astonishes with its visual lightness, showing off its new wide module marked by the new electrified Lift vertically sliding doors in black stained hemlock which, rising up, reveal the fabric covered back panel, and by the new display case with transparent doors and shelves and the new metallic bookend modules.
In the dining room, the new Ryoba table by Piero Lissoni encourages a new domestic rituality with its tapered brass legs and a top composed of solid European cherry boards assembled without glue, characterized by long, narrow proportions and irregular format which do not force the natural dimensions of the trunk, matched with the upholstered Pioggia chair by Piero Lissoni with its streamlined solid ash legs and powder blue fabric covering which wraps the seat and armrests. Elevated on the new T-shaped metal foot, a new generation Modern cupboard designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research centre encloses, between 2 solid aluminum tray shelves in a special materical blue finish, a freestanding arrangement of wooden boxes in eucalyptus and giallo mustard, rosso cina and blu reale metal modules, in which even the voids become part of the compositional rhythm. On the wall we find a classic piece like the Load-it bookshelf by Wolfgang Tolk, which takes on a new life donning wall panels in the new ribbed wood texture which dematerializes the boundaries of each module, creating a single enchanting 3D surface.
Presented together with the 3Table coffee tables by Front, with shelves in different shapes and materials which rotate around each other, the new Curry couches by Piero Lissoni enchant with their asymmetrical silhouette and the relaxed “buen retiro” atmosphere with the precious workmanship of the woven straw back and the soft cushions in colored linen, which make them ideal in a living area, just as in a bedroom or on a patio, for both residential and contract use. In a continuous interplay of contradictions and opposites which collide and harmonize with each other, a large Modern composition combines a transparent display case with glass doors and shelves with a long sideboard in eucalyptus resting on a 20 cm. T-shaped foot. Opaque and transparent, they interweave in the Hinged Storage wardrobe with Block glass doors, characterized by a metallic contour of refined simplicity which displays fabric covered back panels in tortora linen. A vanity niche has been carved out from among its modules to dedicate oneself, created through a Modern + Load-it composition with mirror wall panels and a black stained hemlock suspended shelf.
In the bedroom, the Hinged Storage wardrobe is proposed in an airy and precious version with glass sides, Iron doors in burnished brass, and transparent enlightened shelves, leaving exposed the back panel covered with a green decorative fabric designed by Serena Confalonieri, inspired by the icons of Porro design: a refined ornamental motif that represents the Gentle chairs by Front which are shown concatenated diagonally in between light green and dark green wakes. At the center of the space, a new interpretation of domestic warmth between rationality and sensuality, the Makura bed by Piero Lissoni in linen fabric in the new corda color with its welcoming and inviting shape that curves into a slight volute, shown with Piero Lissoni’s Boxes bedside table in pale moon essence, along with the Hub central drawer unit by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti in pale moon essence with wood and glass drawers on one side and wood drawers with sit-bench on the other, on which to sit to contemplate one’s wardrobe.
