Designer's days Paris 2007

14.06.07

On the occasion of the Parisian Designer’s days dedicated to the “desire” theme this year, Porro presents for the first time in France its particular vision of the ideal living space, which comes from a unique and original mix between in-series production and individual expressiveness.
Inside the wide exhibition space of Forum Diffusion showroom, a special board proposes some of the suggestions of Material House, the new collection conceived by Piero Lissoni re-interpreting the most significant products of Porro catalogue by an original use of materials.
And this is how the Truffle chair is coloured in face powder pink like an elegant duvet; the Nouvelle Vague chaise-longue carries traces of cine-film frames; the Boxes container recover itself with silver dots: Piero Lissoni forsakes his architect's tools and changes into a tailor, who patiently makes up his pieces of furniture one by one, freely selecting from a tremendously rich spectrum of personalisation possibilities.
It is not an experiment for its own sake, but research aimed at discovering new creative ideas. The result of the operation, a particular series of unique pieces: products that are numbered and, for some small reason, different from any others on the market. Something to own and collect.
